Talk Title: Using Temporal Graph Neural Network to Health Deterioration in ICU Patients
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Firoz Mridha (Senior Member IEEE, Professional Member ACM) is a distinguished scientist and academic leader specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), with over two decades of excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently a Professor and Head in the Department of Computer Science and Member of the Research & Publication Steering Committee at the American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB). He is also the Founder and Director of the Advanced Machine Intelligence Research (AMIR) Lab, a globally recognized center of excellence that drives cutting-edge research and innovation in artificial intelligence, fostering high-impact publications, international collaborations, and transformative real-world solutions. Prof. Mridha’s research encompasses deep learning, computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and natural language processing (NLP), focusing on developing intelligent, explainable, and data-driven systems for real-world impact. He has authored and co-edited several Springer books and published over 350 peer-reviewed papers in IEEE Transactions, Core-ranked conferences/workshops, and leading AI journals - collectively earning over 9000 citations. His outstanding contributions have earned him recognition among the top 0.5% of researchers globally (ScholarGPS, 2024) and the top 2% of scientists worldwide (Stanford/Elsevier, 2024–2025). He is recognized the topmost (Number #1) researchers in Bangladesh in the year 2025 (Scopus/Elsevier). He was also listed among the top five most productive researchers in Bangladesh (Scopus/Elsevier, 2024). Beyond his scholarly achievements, Prof. Mridha actively contributes to the global AI community as General Chair, Program Chair, and Editorial Board Member of several Journal, advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in artificial intelligence research.
